A new spy comedy spanning America and Europe is coming to Netflix starring Oscar winners and renowned actors. The Union sees Mike, played by Mark Wahlberg, reunite with his high school sweetheart Roxanne, played by Halle Berry, and the pair undergo a dangerous mission in Europe.

Directed by Julian Farino, Mike is whisked off on a whirlwind adventure that turns his quiet working-class world upside down but he is keen to charm his long-lost love.

A plot synopsis for the new film reads: “Mike (Wahlberg) is happy living a simple life as a construction worker in his native New Jersey –– until his long-lost high school sweetheart, Roxanne (Berry), shows up with more on her mind than romance.

“Knowing he’s the right man for the job, she recruits Mike on a dangerous intelligence mission in Europe that thrusts them back together into a world of spies and high-speed car chases, with sparks flying along the way.”

The film stars the likes of Mike Colter, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica De Gouw, Alice Lee, Jackie Earle Haley, and J.K. Simmons. Ahead of its release on Netflix on Friday, August 16, here is the cast list of The Union.

Mark Wahlberg

The two-time Oscar nominee stars as Mike, a working class man who is taken away on a dangerous spy mission in Europe. Mark Wahlberg is known for a range of action and comedic roles, namely the Transformer films, Ted film series, The Departed, The Fighter and Daddy’s Home.

Halle Berry

Roxanne is Mike’s ex-girlfriend in high school and a member of The Union, a top secret and slightly unorthodox government agency. Halle Berry became the only African-American woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress, and the first woman of color for her starring role in Monster's Ball.

She also played Storm in the X-Men film series, Jinx in James Bond flick Die Another Day and also appeared in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, John Wick: Chapter 3, Extant and Bruised.

Mike Colter

He is best known for his role as Luke Cage in Marvel television series, including Luke Cage, The Defenders and Jessica Jones. You may also recognise him from Men in Black 3, The Good Wife and The Good Flight.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje

The British actor is known for his roles in TV series such as Simon Adebisi in Oz and Mr. Eko in Lost. Adewale has also starred in several blockbuster films including Lock-Nah in The Mummy Returns, Nykwana Wombosi in The Bourne Identity, Heavy Duty in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Killer Croc in Suicide Squad.

Jessica De Gouw

The Australian actress is a rising star and known to many as Helena Bertinelli/The Huntress in the television series Arrow. She also starred as Mina Murray in the NBC TV series Dracula, and as Elizabeth Hawkes in the WGN series Underground.
