Good Morning Britain host announces 'it's goodbye' as they mark last show

GMB: Richard Madeley says goodbye to Trisha as she leaves show

TV favourite Trisha Goddard delivered her final sign-off on ITV's Good Morning Britain after having co-presented the popular morning show.

The seasoned television personality joined Richard Madeley to lead the programme, much to the delight of viewers. However, all good things come to an end, and Thursday's episode (August 15) marked Trisha's departure.

Following a fervent discussion on whether fox hunters should be afforded the same protections as minority groups, Richard and Trisha concluded the broadcast. As the show wrapped up, Richard remembered Trisha's stint was finishing and bid her farewell.

He announced: "OK, Good Morning Britain is back from 6 and now it's time for Ranvir in for Lorraine."

Suddenly remembering, he exclaimed: "Oh and it's goodbye to you!", reports the Mirror.

Trisha echoed his sentiment, stating: "It's goodbye to me!" To which Richard, giving her a reassuring pat on the shoulder, added: "It's been really good fun!".

Trisha cheerfully responded: "Alright! Miss you already."

Speculation remains about whether Trisha might make a comeback to Good Morning Britain. The show has featured various guest hosts over recent months.

Despite Trisha's rich history in broadcasting, viewer opinions have been split regarding her latest GMB stint. Some felt that her hosting style didn't gel with Richard's, while others thought they struck just the right note together.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans have been praising Trisha this week. One user wrote: "Trisha has been a breath of fresh air this week."

Another added: "Richard and Trisha both doing a great job this week."

GMB continues weekdays from 6am on ITV.
