The Repair Shop's beloved clockmaker Steve Fletcher has shared some heartwarming family news that is sure to excite fans: his son Fred is set to make a comeback on the BBC favourite, bringing with him a special item to tackle solo.

Taking to social media, Steve posted an endearing video alongside Fred, revealing that his progeny has made a return to the famed barn and this time, he's taking on a project all by himself.

Steve couldn't help but express his admiration for Fred's emerging skills, describing him as doing "very, very well" and hailing him as an "actual natural".

In his post, Steve beamed with pride, writing: "Look who's back at @therepairshoptv! My son and apprentice, @fredfletcher.clocks has his own item to repair this time, and he's doing a brilliant job with it.

He went on to state that he was "very proud" of his son Fred. The announcement of Fred stepping up in The Repair Shop has sent waves of joy across their fanbase, with numerous followers flooding the comments to extend their congratulations to the dynamic duo, thrilled at the prospect of them teaming up.

Unveiled earlier this summer, the series will feature the team travelling across the country to restore people's cherished items to their former glory, reports the Mirror.

In May, it was revealed that beloved host Jay Blades would be taking a hiatus from the main show, with production on the upcoming season scheduled to commence in his absence.

The Repair Shop airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer with the 13th season continuing tomorrow at 8pm.
