Love Is Blind's Emma Willis surprised by husband Matt's comment on live TV

Matt and Emma Willis talk about Love is Blind UK

Emma Willis, star of Love Is Blind, was left surprised by her husband Matt's candid admission about their long-standing romance during their appearance on The One Show on Tuesday night.

The couple, who first became an item nearly two decades ago and celebrated tying the knot at Northamptonshire's Rushton Hall in 2008, are parents to three children: Isabelle, Ace, and the youngest, Trixie.

Currently, Emma, aged 48, formerly known for hosting Big Brother, and Matt, the 41-year-old Busted bassist, have teamed up as co-hosts for the UK iteration of the popular Netflix series, Love Is Blind. The show sees them assist singles in navigating blind dating in the podswhere they cant see each other until after getting engagedwith the endgame being either marriage or a split.

In anticipation of new episodes, the duo graced BBC's The One Show with hosts Alex Jones and Lauren Laverne, offering viewers insights into their experience working on the reality sensation.

Lauren interrogated: "You guys might have thought from your point of view, you've been together for 20 (years). If you met in the pods do you think you would have hit it off," reports WalesOnline.

Emma displayed unwavering certainty as she responded: "So I'm an absolute yes to this. We have been asked this question a lot and the first time we got asked this I said yes absolutely."

However, upon looking towards Matt, she humorously expressed doubt with a facial gesture, noting: "But he was like umm."

Matt then confessed: "I say things without thinking quite a lot so I would have let myself down."

Emma playfully retorted: "So was that one of them."

Discussing his initial hesitance to connect with Emma, he commented: "I think I would have said something silly but who knows but I would have fallen for her."

Emma shared her thoughts on their unique show, confessing: "It's bonkers. let's just put it out there, it's not your usual dating show. They only get to meet each other if they fall in love and propose."

Alex brought up the compelling nature of the dates saying: "We heard you didn't have to stay to watch the dates but you wanted to because it was so addictive."

Matt admitted: "Yes absolutely. Emma more than anyone, she was so keen and it was like old school Big Brother days for her because there were screens everywhere."

And Emma detailed how the show drew them in adding: "There was a wall filled with screens and we sat down and said 'yeah we will watch the first couple' but two hours later we missed lunch just watching these people, you just can not stop once you've started."

The One Show is on BBC One on weeknights at 7pm
