PGA Tour pro Billy Horschel unloads on TV commentators and says 'I despise it'
PGA Tour golfer Billy Horschel sounded off on golf commentators and the constant reminders they broadcast to audiences about how much money the players are competing for. The American has won 11 tournaments in his career, with eight of them coming on the Tour.
The 37-year-old is certainly not afraid to offer up strong opinions and did not hold back as he unloaded his frustration with golf pundits, going as far as requesting that the Tour could relay his annoyance to the TV crews about the repeated mentions of the cash on offer during an event.
The American - who has earned over $39million (£30million) in his career - banked the biggest payday of his career in 2014 when winning the FedEx Cup Playoffs, taking home a sum of $10m (£7.8m).

During an appearance on The Smylie Show, Horschel admitted his displeasure in discussing the financial side of golf, taking aim at the sport's commentators for their incessant mention of it on broadcasts.
"I hate talking about the financials of it. I despise it, honestly, to tell you the truth," Horschel said on the Smylie Show in the latest edition of the podcast with the former PGA Tour pro. "For many years now, I've told the tour—especially at the Tour Championship—that we need to tell TV to stop talking about how much money the FedEx Cup winner gets because I know people don't want to know about the millions of dollars they make."

He added: "They don't want to be repeatedly told how much money they're playing for. It makes them feel even smaller." Horschel will surely be hoping to bank another colossal payday after recent strong showings that saw him claim his eighth PGA Tour tournament win in April when he captured the Corales Puntacana Championship.
He then threatened to break his major duck when contending at The Open at Royal Troon where he ended up tying for second alongside Justin Rose as Xander Schauffele continued his remarkable 2024 by winning his second major of the year in Scotland.
