Meteor shower to peak before dawn: Space Museum

The Space Museum says the Perseid meteor shower will peak before dawn on Tuesday. The annual meteor shower has been active since last month. Kenneth Chiu from the museum said around 100 meteors per hour are expected between 11:30pm on Monday and 5am on Tuesday. Chiu said Clear Water Bay will be one of the best locations for seeing them. "If the weather is suitable for watching, we would suggest people go to the extremely dark and also the wide sky area to watch the meteor shower. And the suggested area that's actually in the kite-flying area, Tai Mei Tuk and Clear Water Bay," he said. Chiu also said the museum will livestream the meteor shower on its YouTube channel, while offering insights into the astronomical aspects of the shooting stars.
