The Repair Shop's Suzie Fletcher has confessed that the show's producers "edit quite a lot out" and there are many behind-the-scenes moments that fans don't get to see.

As a leather worker and saddle maker, Suzie is a familiar face on the beloved BBC series, where she assists the public in restoring their most cherished items.

Now, at 62, she has given an insight into what it's like filming for the programme.

She revealed: "They edit quite a lot out because I do lose it quite frequently. I'll have tears rolling down my face. I get caught up in other people's emotions so quickly. But I've stopped trying to hide it now because that's just who I am - I embrace it."

function loadOvpScript(){let el=document.createElement('script');el.setAttribute('src','https://live.primis.tech/live/liveView.php?s=114945&playerApiId=v114945');document.getElementById('ovp-primis').appendChild(el)} window.top.addEventListener('primisPlayerInit',e=>{try{if(e.detail&&e.detail.playerApiId==="v114945"){if(window.document.getElementsByClassName('jwplayer')[0]){e.detail.float('disable')}}}catch(e){}});window.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded',()=>{setTimeout(()=>{if(typeof flagTcfLoaded!=='undefined'&&flagTcfLoaded===!0){loadOvpScript() ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP flagTcfLoaded',new Date())}else{document.addEventListener("tcfLoaded",()=>{loadOvpScript() ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP tcfLoaded',new Date())})}},1500)})

In a chat with The Sun's TV Mag, Suzie also explained how seriously the show's stars take the restoration of the items brought to them. She stated: "We are given the challenge of fixing the impossible, yet we never fail and touch wood we never will."

Suzie's brother Steven also contributes to the programme as a clock-restorer, and they are accompanied by many other familiar faces at The Court Barn in West Sussex, including carpenter Will Kirk.

In the most recent episode, Suzie is tasked with repairing a cherished taxi badge for sisters Kelly and Dawn Langley, which was awarded to their late father John when he passed The Knowledge - the test all London black-cab drivers must pass.

John served as a taxi driver for 38 years before his death in 2011, and now the badge is deteriorating. Suzie confessed that they "love it when two family members come into the barn," because they "bounce off each other and all these lovely stories come out."

Suzie reminisced about how her father had his own carpentry workshop, which helped her understand the significance of sentimental items.

She detailed how she and her brother "were sorting out the house after Mum and Dad died, and me and Steve walked into Dad's workshop and it was covered in cobwebs, like Miss Havisham's house in Dickens' Great Expectations."

Suzie revealed that "time had stood still" in the workshop and that her "Dad's tools were on his bench where he had last left them."

She concluded: "It was very, very emotional. Now every one of his tools I pick up, I think of Dad."
