Chef jokes about 'torturing' James Martin on show

James Martin's Saturday Morning turned awkward as the chef issued a warning to one of his guests as they cooked up a storm in the kitchen.

The cooking show was back on television screens on Saturday (August 10) and the presenter welcomed restauranteur Asma Khan onto his ITV show.

They worked together to russle up a delicious dish but Asma soon became concerned about some food sizzling in the pan next to her. As Asma went to check , James reassured her: "Don't worry, I'm on it."

Asma told the host "I'm not stressing you out. I'm just kind of looking to see what's going to happen." Moving on the coversation, James then asked: "Do you want this peeled?". The cookbook authour replied: "No, it doesn't have to be peeled."

"I wouldn't peal it," James agreed.  Asma then added "No, it's not worth the hassle and there's also a limit on how much I can tourture you on your own show."

The pair laughed off Asma's comment before carrying on to work on the dish. It comes after James made the shocking revelation that he has already planned out a vital part of his funeral.

The Saturday Morning fave was diagnosed with facial cancer back in 2018, which was the final straw for him in the midst of "one of the most fraught and difficult periods of my life".

He had missed his grandfather's funeral, which left him traumatised, and his partner then suffered a terrifying ordeal when their house was burgled while she was home alone.

On top of that, he received a heart-wrenching cancer diagnosis. However, he has taken control of his situation and, astonishingly, already planned out which song he would like the funeral procession to hear when he is laid to rest.

He made the shocking revelation during a recent interview with The Guardian - and his decision might surprise those who know him solely as a TV chef. "All my mates know that I’m obsessed with tractors," he mischievously revealed, before adding that The Combine Harvester (Brand New Key) by the Wurzels would be perfect for his send-off.

He is adamant that he couldn't afford a combine harvester like Kaleb Cooper's, however. "They’re about £750,000 these days, so I can’t afford one - but I could afford a tractor," he quipped.
