Tottenham are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Bournemouth over the high-profile signing of striker Dominic Solanke.

Spurs have been circling all summer and have now formally approached the 26-year-old Cherries frontman.

The two clubs are currently finalising what could be a statement transfer. And Liverpool stand to gain around £8million from the deal as they are entitled to a 20 per cent cut of any profit Bournemouth make from the sale.

Solanke transferred to the Vitality Stadium in 2019 from Anfield for an initial £19million plus add-ons. BBC Sport claim a deal will be done for £60m rather than Spurs paying his £65m release clause.

That would mean the Reds bank approximately £8.2m from the deal.

Solanke was last season's standout performer for Bournemouth and scored 19 Premier League goals and totalled 21 across competitions.

Speaking to Sky Sports in a feature published on Thursday, Andoni Iraola remarked: "It's obvious, Dom is the most important player for us. But the numbers are there.

"It's not [just] about the goals, he helps us a lot in the build-up, the press. He doesn't have big weaknesses for us, he makes us a much better team. I feel like he's happy here. He's already training with the group.

"We cannot control everything, we don't know how the market is going to finish but whatever happens he is a top professional. He'll be helping the team, I hope, for a lot of years."

Chelsea have also shown interest in their former player Solanke this summer but the Blues felt his £65m release clause was too steep.

Spurs have made their move in light of Richarlison's decision to remain in north London despite a lucrative approach from the Saudi Pro League.

Al Hilal are believed to have launched a bid to sign the 27-year-old but he is happy at Spurs and wants to remain in the Premier League to maximise his chances of leading the line for England at the 2026 World Cup.
