Toro y Moi Doubles Down with "Hollywood" and "CD-R"

While Hole Erth is still about a month away, Toro y Moi is keeping the momentum alive until its scheduled September release date. After unleashing "Heaven" last month with Kevin Abstract and Lev, Toro y Moi has dropped off two new singles lifted from the imminent project: "Hollywood" featuring Ben Gibbard and "CD-R."

"I've been a fan of Ben's music for some time now and it only felt right to have him be a part of this record," explained Toro y Moi's Chaz Bear. "With the album having themes of angst and nostalgia, 'Hollywood' felt like a perfect fit.”

As for "CD-R," the second track Bear taps into more nostalgic themes, finding inspiration in the pre-streaming days. "'CD-R' is a song that pays homage to the days before playlisting and streaming, the days when things were curated by people and not the algorithm," he added.

The two new tracks join Hole Erth's already-released cuts "Heaven" and "Tuesday," with the album arriving a little over a year since Bear's last Toro project, Sandhills from August 2023.

Stream "Hollywood" and "CD-R" on Spotify and Apple Music now, and keep an eye out for Hole Erth – which drops everywhere on Friday, September 6.
