Father Found Guilty of Sending 17-Year-Old Son to Murder PnB Rock

A Los Angeles jury found a man guilty of sending his 17-year-old son to murder PnB Rock. After four hours of deliberation, the jury convicted Freddie Trone, 42, on four counts: one count of murder, two robbery counts and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

In September 2022, rapper and singer PnB Rock, whose real name is Rakim Allen, was eating at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles with his girlfriend, the mother of his 4-year-old child. A teenager wearing a ski mask walked into the restaurant and demanded Allen’s jewelry before opening fire. Allen was shot multiple times and pronounced dead an hour later at a hospital.

The prosecution argued during the trial that the teenager was acting on his father’s orders and that Trone drove the getaway car. His defense team countered that Trone was only an accessory after the crimes had been committed.

A second man, Tremont Jones, was found guilty of two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. Trone’s son, who is now 19, was also arrested on murder and robbery charges but hasn’t been found competent to stand trial.

Trone and Jones will face sentencing on August 27.
