Letter: When it comes to egregious anti-family acts, one party has the edge

It is understandable that Donald Trump suffers from some memory loss, given his advanced age. I was, however, surprised to discover that his running mate suffers from the same malady.

JD Vance has stated that the Democratic Party is the “anti-family” party, thereby implying that the Republicans are the “pro-family” party.

At this point, neither party can honestly tout themselves as pro-family. There is enough adultery and other misconduct in Washington on both sides of the aisle to disqualify anyone from being an advocate for healthy families.

However, when it comes to egregious anti-family acts, Vance seems to have forgotten that it was the Republicans, under the direction of the Trump administration, that ripped young children from their families and actually locked them up in cages — causing the death of at least five minors. Also, it is Vance’s co-candidate, who has been known to spend time with porn stars, has been found guilty of sexual abuse, had an affair while still married, is a convicted felon, and has advocated for sexually assaulting women (cue the Access Hollywood tape). So clearly, the Republican party has moved their allegiance to a man of immoral character and away from families.
