Star Trek Prodigy Creators Want To Continue Show In Live-Action Or As A Movie

Star Trek Prodigy has had an interesting trajectory, going from Paramount+, then being canceled, and then revived on Netflix shortly thereafter. The second season premiered this past July in its entirety, with all 20 episodes. The show focuses on a group of young aliens, led by Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew reprising her role from Star Trek: Voyager) on a mission to find the original crew of the USS Protostar.

Season 3 of the show hasn't been confirmed yet, but Mulgrew is hopeful. Despite this, the cast and showrunners are even thinking about moving the series over to live-action or a possible movie down the line if it's not renewed.

"I want people to grow up with these kids," executive producer Kevin Hageman told GameSpot at Comic-Con. "I want to see them grow up and become full-fledged adult Starfleet officers."
