Rangers have managed to avoid a potential blockbuster Champions League play-off with Jose Mourinho after the draw was conducted today.

Philippe Clement's team is set to travel to Poland for tomorrow's third-round qualifier first leg against Dynamo Kyiv, before welcoming the Ukrainians at Hampden Park next Tuesday.

Dynamo Kyiv, who thrashed Partizan Belgrade 9-2 on aggregate in the previous round, will be a tough opponent but if Rangers can secure victory over two legs, they will face the winners of FC Salzburg vs FC Twente - potentially leading to a quick reunion with Sam Lammers.

The draw took place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland on Monday morning and Rangers successfully avoided a possible match-up with Mourinho's Fenerbahce or French side LOSC Lille.

A draw with the Turkish giants would also have seen former Ibrox star Ryan Kent return to Glasgow but instead, they could face another familiar name in Lammers, who they sold to FC Twente last month.

If Rangers can navigate their two-legged showdown with Dynamo unscathed, then their play-off matches will take place on August 20/21 and 27/28. The first leg will be played at Hampden Park.

If the Govan men fail to reach the final round, they'll drop straight into the league phase of the Europa League.
