Gunther isn’t likely to make his return to Bloodsport, noting that those days are “behind” him. A number of WWE-contracted talent have competed at the GCW events in 2024 including Shayna Baszler and The Creed Brothers, and Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp asked the new World Heavyweight Champion in an interview before SummerSlam if he was interested in competing there.

“I did it before,” Gunther said. “wXw always had the Ambition tournament. I love that style. I watched uWFI a lot and BattleArts. That’s behind me now.”

Gunther was part of GCW Matt Riddle’s Bloodsport in 2018, defeating Tom Lawlor.
