Four In A Bed owner says rival's business needs 'closing' over 'poor standards'

Four in a Bed: Guest says BnB 'needs closing' in shocking feedback

On Sunday's episode of Four In A Bed, B&B owner Malaya didn't hesitate to confront one contestant at the table. During a rerun of the Channel 4 show, the group gathered to discuss the value of their stay and address feedback.

Malaya quickly questioned why Phil and Maria had given him a low score of three for his facilities.

He labelled the score "harsh" and demanded an explanation from Phil, who responded: "The taps on the sink, turn the tap, the tap follows you."

Interrupting, Malaya pointed out that his establishment wasn't a five-star hotel, which seemed to irritate Phil.

He retorted: "What do you think about the taps spinning round and the shower overflowing? Is that normal? Is that what you get with B&B these days?"

In response to the complaints, Malaya explained that the issues were promptly addressed, but Phil was not satisfied. He told the owner that the problems indicated poor maintenance standards.

As Malaya admitted there were improvements to be made, Phil shot back: "I think it needs more than improving. It needs closing." reports the Mirror.

However, another contestant named Pete was not pleased with the harsh comments.

He interjected, saying: "That's out of order. To say that it needs closing is way over the line."

In a tense exchange at the B&B competition, one guest called out Phil for his blunt criticisms, leading to Phil emphasising that Malaya's establishment must resolve its issues before resuming business.

Malaya firmly responded: "With disrespect for that, I can't take that on board."

Phil further ruffled feathers when he chose to shortchange his payment by £25, citing subpar room standards.

Giving his reasonings, he declared: "Generally speaking, the standard of the room is pretty poor."

Taking a stand, Malaya expressed her discontent, remarking: "I'm a little bit disappointed, I can't accept that.

"We stand by the price we're selling. That is my opinion, that's your personal choice."

The competition ultimately saw Malaya come in last, with Pete and Alex clinching victory.
