Arne Slot makes Liverpool complaint after 3-0 Man Utd win in USA
Arne Slot's Liverpool comfortably beat Manchester United 3-0 - but the Dutchman wasn't completely satisfied despite making it three wins from three on the Reds' pre-season tour of the USA.
Goals from Fabio Carvalho, Curtis Jones and Kostas Tsimikas helped Liverpool overcome their bitter rivals in Columbia, South Carolina in front of 77,559 fans.
Yet the Dutch coach, taking charge of just his third friendly as Liverpool manager, wasn't entirely pleased with what he saw at the Williams–Brice Stadium. Asked if he was happy with his team's individual performances, he replied: "Yes, I was – but not with all of them.
"We are very happy with the result, we scored some really nice goals. But I don't think we had enough control over the game because United were threatening us more than a few times. It's a 3-0 win but the score could have been different tonight as well."

Slot reiterated his complaint about how open his side were as he added: "Of course the results, that's where everybody is looking at. But players stayed fit and they are able to perform in the way we want, so [a] high-intensity game.

"[But] Like I said, today I think we gave away too many chances, United deserved more than a 3-0 loss. But it's also our quality that we do score our own chances."
Liverpool now fly straight back to England to prepare for two friendlies in one day next Sunday. They play Sevilla at Anfield as Slot gets his first taste of his new home stadium at 12.30pm.
They then host Las Palmas behind closed doors at Anfield at 5pm on the same day. That comes a week before they open their Premier League campaign at Ipswich on Saturday 17 August (12.30pm).
Slot added: "A lot of new players come in – I think seven, eight or nine maybe. Not new but they come back from their holiday. So it's interesting to see how these players fit into the team and implement them as soon as we can.
"We need to work hard in the upcoming two weeks to be ready for Ipswich because there are a lot of positives to take from today but also, like I just said, we gave away too many chances."

Dominik Szoboszlai missed Liverpool's victory over United after featuring in the first two friendlies in the United States. The Hungarian playmaker was not even in the match-day squad.
And Slot explained pre-match: "I think it's our 13th day of the tour. Dominik joined every session and every game, and we played the last one two days ago.
"I think it's a bit of fatigue and we don't want to take any risks because we fly back to Liverpool tonight and on Tuesday all the other players arrive as well.
"So we want to start off then with all the players available and we didn't want to take any risk with him today."
