Simon Rimmer drops name of huge star he'd choose to replace Tim Lovejoy on Sunday Brunch
Television chef Simon Rimmer has named the international TV icon he would love to present alongside if he had to replace fellow Sunday Brunch star Tim Lovejoy.
Lovejoy, 56, has presented the popular Channel 4 show alongside Rimmer since 2012. They joined the show having spent six years together on BBC Two’s Something for the Weekend.
During an interview on the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast in June, Rimmer revealed the TV presenter he would most like to star alongside.

When asked by Wogan who his ideal co-star would be, Rimmer replied: “I think we’ve had lots of co-presenters, Tom Allen has co-presented and he was really brilliant on it, then Joe Lycett, they’re just really, really good people. I think if I could have somebody as a one-off guest presenter, anyone in the world, I would go for Oprah [Winfrey].

Dubbed “the Queen of All Media”, Oprah is best known for the Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran between 1986 and 2011.
She has however dipped her toes into the world of cooking, releasing her cookbook Food, Health, and Happiness in 2017.
During their conversation on the podcast, Wogan and Rimmer also discussed life behind-the-scenes on Sunday Brunch, comparing former Soccer AM star Lovejoy to a “work husband”. Former Strictly contestant Rimmer also opened up about his co-star’s “worst habit”.

Wogan said: “You’ve got Lovejoy with you every Sunday morning, and you’ve been with that man a long time, your TV husband, should we say? What’s his worst habit?”
Rimmer replied: “The thing is with Tim, we’re like any sort of long-standing couple. I think you don’t know where one ends and the other begins at times.
"I think what we’re very bad at is, you’ll do something in rehearsal, and I know it sounds amazing that we actually do rehearse Sunday Brunch, and we say, ‘we’ll do that because that’ll be funny’ and then one of us will forget what we were going to do."
Sunday Brunch airs on Channel 4 from 9.30am to 12.30pm every Sunday.
