Girl, 9, fighting for life after she and little brother hit by bus

A nine-year-old girl is fighting for her life after she and her little brother were hit by a bus in southeast London today.

The two siblings were struck on Watling Street in Bexleyheath just after 9am while out with a family member.

The young girl was rushed to hospital and her injuries are being treated as life-threatening.

Her younger brother, aged five, was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the bus was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.

A Met Police spokesperson said: ‘The children are siblings who were with a family member at the time of the collision.

‘Officers are providing support to their family.
