Double Eleven, the studio behind Prison Architect 2, has just announced that the game has been indefinitely delayed. Those who preordered it will receive refunds.

A blog post by the game's community manager explains that Double Eleven needed "more time to improve both the game's performance and its content." The team wants to ensure the game meets quality standards before releasing it.

"Our continuous internal reviews and beta test groups have highlighted areas that we need to focus on more, mainly performance and content, which we need to address before launch to ensure that you, the players, get a good experience in the game," the post said.
