Coronation Street fans 'rumble' Kit Green's hidden link to villain in sibling twist

Corrie: Craig and Kit talk about ice hockey

Coronation Street fans are speculating that newcomer Kit Green, portrayed by Jacob Roberts, could be the adopted brother of another resident of Weatherfield.

Kit made his debut on the show earlier this year, claiming to be Bernie's (played by Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost son who she gave up for adoption nearly three decades ago. Despite Bernie's attempts to reconnect, Kit remains hesitant to forgive her for abandoning him.

Bernie's twins, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell ) and Paul (Peter Ash), were taken aback when they discovered they had another sibling. However, Kit, a police officer, also played a role in implicating Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) in Lauren Bolton's (Cait Fitton) murder using questionable methods involving planted DNA evidence.

He also managed to clear Gemma's name when she was accused of stealing children's shoes.

Kit is becoming a regular face on the cobbles and recently announced plans to buy Gemma and Chesney Brown's (Sam Aston) house as they face eviction.

But he also tried to turn Gemma and Paul against Bernie as he recently expressed his hatred for his biological mum.

Kit's past remains somewhat shrouded in mystery, leading some Corrie viewers to predict that he might be the adoptive brother of Joel Deering (Calum Lill).

Joel was unveiled as Lauren Bolton's (Cait Fitton) boyfriend after she disappeared for several months and was presumed dead.

However, when she returned Lauren revealed she was pregnant with Joel's baby.

Has Kit been helping Joel covcer up his crimes? Some fans think so.

Taking to a Reddit thread, one person wrote: "I definitely think something fishy is going on with his character, would love to hear what everyone thinks will happen."

A second explained: "I think he was adopted by Joel's parents, that's why he was helping him planting the evidence."

"Not seen the 2 together in a scene yet either and if I remember right, Kit said to Bernie at their first meeting when Bernie pretended to be the agency cleaner, that he knows the local solicitor, so it all connects to me."

Taking to X, another added: "I say Kit is involved more in this Lauren storyline like there's something odd with him and could be a nice twist like maybe he knows Joel etc and maybe Kit is the father of her baby #corrie."

"In Corrie, we know Kit is Bernie's son. But twins run in families. What if Paul and Gemma aren't her only set? Kit's brother could be, drum roll... Joel. And that's why they're helping each other? #Corrie", added another.

While another predicted: "I'm convinced that Kit is involved with Joel. He's not been brought in just to be Bernie's long lost son #Corrie."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X
