ITV Loose Women's Denise Welch admits 'life changing' surgery is 'freaking me out'

Denise Welch discusses having surgery on her eyes

Loose Women's Denise Welch has opened up about her recent "life-changing surgery" admitting she's had enough of "wearing glasses all the time".

During a candid discussion on ITV's hit show with Kaye Adams, Myleene Klass, and Nadia Sawalha, the 66-year-old TV personality shared insights about her lens replacement surgery before the day's topics were delved into.

Expressing her frustrations, Denise explained how she'd become fed up with her iconic black framed glasses and their constant need for cleaning. "I've had lens replacement surgery and I can honestly say, it's freaking me out a bit!" she revealed.

Denise highlighted the remarkable change as well: "Normally the audience is a blur to me from here unless I put my glasses on. I can see the autocue," mentioning the newfound clarity: "It's unbelievable!"

While chatting about her surgical experience and the excellent care she received, Denise said: "He talked me through it, he told me if I was losing an eyelash because he said back in the day they'd cut off all your eyelashes off and shave your eyebrows because of infection. So I can't wear eye makeup for two weeks. But as I say, if you're thinking of having it, have it," reports the Mirror.

Denise recently made the news this week when she disclosed her unfortunate brush with fraudsters. The TV icon, shared her ordeal on a stint with Good Morning Britain and recounted her shocking experience where she inadvertently divulged her bank credentials to cunning swindlers.

She recalled how she was duped into thinking she was in communication with her actual bank, recounting: "I went out, took the phone call and they said, it's the fraud squad. They said there was some fraudulent activity going on with your card, and we want to put a stop to it."

Continuing her narrative, she expressed her unwavering belief that she was interacting with her genuine bank's fraud department, stating: "And I had absolutely zero doubt that I was talking to the fraud department from my bank because it had come up under the headline of Barclays that I had put into my phone."

Denise then described how she unwittingly shared her highly confidential information, including her card's pin number.

Compounding the mistake, she recalled the aftermath, adding: "Now, even I know that you don't give your pin away, but because I was talking to the fraud department at Barclays, I did. And the next day, I mentioned this to my husband, who went absolutely spare."

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
