The New Seiko Prospex 1965 Recreation Draws Inspiration From the Greek Ionian Islands

After unveiling a colorful Prospex Speedtimer, Seiko is back with a new European-exclusive Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation.

Sporting a summery Gradation Island Blue dial, this new model is a recreation of Seiko’s first diver watch in 1965. Drawing aesthetic cues from the serene and mystic beauty of the Greek Ionian islands, the graduated hues nod to white sandy beaches and the clear blue waters.

Outfitted in stainless steel, the time-teller is paired with a matching metal bracelet. A contrasting navy blue bezel brings out a contrasting finish to the watch, while Lumibrite-incorporated indices ensure clear readability in dark environments.

In terms of power, the watch runs on Seiko’s in-house 6R35 caliber, which provides 70 hours of power reserve with an accuracy of -15/+25 seconds per day.

Retailing for £1,290 GBP (approx $1,655 USD), the Seiko Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation is releasing as a 1,000-piece limited run, now available to order through the Seiko Boutique website.
