Emmerdale: Police call Caleb about fire at his work

Emmerdale fans were left distracted during Tuesday's episode (July 30) thanks to Caleb Milligan's dinner at The Woolpack.

During the latest visit to the village, Caleb (William Ash) and his wife Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) returned from their holiday in Bali but were met with bad news.

The police called Caleb to inform him that a fire had taken place at his car dealership. Officers wasted no time in investigating the blaze as they suspected an arson attack and visited Caleb to ask him some questions.

But as he walked through the front door, he told Ruby how it was "lucky" he had increased the business premiums before their trip leaving his wife wide-eyed.

A copper asked Caleb where he was at the time of the fire he explained he was at home with his wife, but it was clear the officer had suspicions. Caleb and Ruby later headed to The Woolpack for a quiet meal.

As the character questioned who had been behind the fire at his car dealership, he told Ruby he did not think it would be his former nemesis Kim Tate (Claire King).

Caleb is currently unaware that Ruby has been plotting with Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) to ruin Kim's life. In The Woolpack, Ruby pointed the guilty finger at Kim but Caleb dismissed her claim.

"Nah, she might be a vengeful witch, but our beef's anicent history. It would make no sense," he told his wife. But moments later, Kim strutted over to Caleb and joked about the fire.
