CM Punk Says He Feels Mentally Strong Heading Into WWE SummerSlam

– Speaking to Denise Salcedo at San Diego Comic-Con last week, WWE Superstar CM Punk spoke about in-ring return at this weekend’s WWE SummerSlam. Punk will face Drew McIntyre later this weekend.

Punk said on how he feels about his return (via WrestlingInc.com), “Mentally, strong. Physically, 100%, or at least as 100% as I get at my current stage of my career. I feel good. I’m anxious, and I’m ready to lace up my boots.”

He added on this being his first televised singles match in WWE in over 10 years, “As far as televised, meat-on-the-bone kind of matches, it’s crazy that it’s been 10 years. It’s wild, but I think that’s what makes it exciting. I think that’s what makes it a special moment. I think that’s why a lot of people are going to tune in to watch SummerSlam.”

CM Punk vs. McIntyre goes down on Saturday, August 3 at WWE SummerSlam. Seth Rollins will serve as the special guest referee. The premium live event will be held at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. It will be broadcast live on Peacock.
