HK shuttlers out of women's doubles

Hong Kong's Lianne Yeung and Yeung Pui-lam have failed to advance in the women's doubles in badminton at the Paris Olympics. In their final group match on Tuesday, the SAR duo lost to Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning of China. The first game was a closely fought affair before the pair from China prevailed, 21-18. The second game was also close with the score tied several times early on, before Liu and Tan put on a late charge to come away 21-15 winners. The SAR pair finished Group B in third place with one win and two losses. China topped the group and Bulgaria came second, both advancing to the next round.
