Carol Kirkwood reports blue skies and sunshine across UK

BBC Breakfast weather presenter Carol Kirkwood delivered some unusually good weather news on the show's X account on Tuesday (July 30). She posted a map showing temperatures up to 32 degrees hitting the country.

"This gives you an idea of the temperatures we are expecting today @BBCBreakfast xxx," she wrote alongside the image. This accompanied her forecasts on the show whch shared a similarly sunny outlook and also announced the pollen count was low, which will come as a relief to hay fever sufferers.

However fans were divided with not everyone enamoured of the thought of sunshine. They took to the comments to share their feelings.

@GrandadPhil12 appeared happy with the prediction posting a picture of comedy character Borat in a mankini and writing: "Sounds like its beachwear today." A user called @Yorkshire_Grit also seemed to think less was more when it came to clothing today commenting: "Crikey! Be taking my vest off soon!"@AlexCharman4 appreciated the warning opining: " Best I finish my tea & walk the dogs before it gets too warm!"

Not everyone was thrilled by the idea of warm weather however. @vidacody2 said: "No thank you."

During her forecasts on the show Carol informed viewers that there were two weather fronts today.

"One across the north of Scotland which is producing some spots of rain," she said.

"And another across southern Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland - that one is fizzling."

"So for the bulk of the day we'll see the cloud continue to break - a lot of blue skies across England and Wales."

For those not enamoured of the heat she advised: "If you'd like it cooler, head to the coast."
