Edgar Cheung defends Olympic fencing gold in foil

Hong Kong's fencing king Edgar Cheung defended his Olympic gold medal in men's foil in dramatic fashion after making a brilliant comeback in the final match against Italian Filippo Macchi in the early hours of Tuesday. He came from 11-14 down to tie the score at 14-14, when the fencing got even more intense. On two occasions, both fencers thought they had won the last point, but the judges said it was too close to rule. Cheung eventually won the bout to claim his second gold in as many games, the first-ever athlete from Hong Kong, China to grab consecutive golds in Olympic history. Hong Kong now have two gold medals in Paris, all in fencing, the most ever won at a single Games so far.
