A Day To Remember announce 2025 Brixton Academy show

A Day To Remember have announced a long-awaited headline show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

Taking to Instagram, the band told fans: “London, we’re heading your way next summer on June 24, 2025.”

The lone London date follows extensive U.S. tour dates including various festival performances. Tickets will be available on presale from Wednesday, July 31st, with additional presales running ahead of the general on-sale on Friday, August 2nd at 10 am local time. You can buy tickets here.

The announcement has left fans clamouring for more, with many speculating they might make an appearance at Download Festival next year.

Others have expressed frustration that it’s a one-off gig, given four UK shows were cancelled in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. “The fact that it’s just at the Academy, is going to make it super hard for the sheer amount of people that want tickets, to get them,” wrote one fan. “The cancelled tour that was due to happen in the UK has never been rescheduled. This is a poor choice.”

The pandemic also affected the released of their seventh album, ‘You’re Welcome’. Initially due out in 2019, the record was first postponed to early 2020, and then later pushed back once again due to the global pandemic.

When it was released in 2021, frontman Jeremy McKinnon reflected on the experience in conversation with NME, and said the delays left them with 40 songs to choose from.

“Some of my favourites didn’t make it, because they just were a step too far in a certain direction, or we had another song on the record that was similar, and people liked this one better… we got to a point where something’s got to be sacrificed,” he explained.

“In fact, they had so many songs left over the band have easily got the makings of another record: “We’ve got five songs that no questions asked at some point would get released, with minimal work on them.”

The band are set to join My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World and more in playing classic albums in full at When We Were Young 2024 in October.
