Two SAR table tennis players, Wong Chun-ting and Zhu Chengzhu, on Monday won their singles matches at the Paris Olympics. In the men's draw, Wong beat Ibrahima Diaw of Senegal in a nail-biter in a round of 64 match. The pair split the first six games, including a marathon second game lasting 14 minutes in favour of Wong, 18-16. Wong prevailed in the seventh and deciding game, 11-4, to make it through to the next round. "Overall, I feel satisfied with my performance today," he said after the match. "I knew it was tough, but there were also some surprises... My opponent was in form quickly and acted more decisively, creating a lot of big difficulties for me. So it’s a good thing that I quickly adjusted my game, and luckily I won the second game." By contrast, Zhu's victory in her round of 64 match was a more straight-forward affair. She swept Chien Tung-chuan of Chinese Taipei 11-7, 11-7, 11-7, 12-10.
