All Creatures Great and Small star hints at big announcement as beloved character returns

All Creatures: Mrs. Hall hands her notice in to Mr. Farnon

All Creatures Great and Small sees the return of Tristan Farnon (played by Callum Woodhouse). It was announced earlier this year that Callum would be returning as Tristan in season 5, along with all of the rest of the main cast who never left, including season 4's new character Richard Carmody.

Taking to X, the 30 year old actor hinted at a big show announcement, when he retweeted a fan's post, who shared that the Channel 5 series would also be available on Netflix next month.

The person in question tweeted: "Woohooo #ACGAS coming to @NetflixUK next month.. ready to rewatch all over again @AllCreaturesTV @exitthelemming @cal_woodhouse @RachelShenton @AnnaMadeley #NicholasRalph #JessthebestestDog."

Callum shared the post with his 7,000 followers who were delighted at the suggestion the series will soon be available to watch on the streaming platform - although no official announcement has been made.

All Creatures Great and Small season 5 continues the story of Yorkshire vets James Herriot, Siegfried Farnon and Tristan.

Paul Testar, Commissioning Editor, Drama, Channel 5 and Paramount Plus said: "We’re so pleased that All Creatures Great and Small will be returning to Channel 5 for two more series.

"The show has captured the hearts of our audiences and we are committed to bringing even more of James Herriot's unforgettable stories to our viewers. We can’t wait to share this next chapter."

Filming is currently underway, but not much is known about the upcoming plot.

Nicholas Ralph is back as James, with Rachel Shenton returning as his wife Helen.

Samuel West is back as grouchy but loveable Siegfried, while Anna Madeley returns as the matriarch of Skeldale House, Mrs Hall.

James Anthony-Rose also reappears as Richard Carmody along with Patricia Hodge as Mrs Pumphrey. And her pampered pooch Tricki is back on screen.

According to Channel 5, Tristan will make an "unexpected return later in the series" so we'll have to keep our eyes peeled.

The two new series will consist of six episodes each, as well as Christmas specials, so there will be plenty to look forward to as the series also returns to Yorkshire to shoot on-location for the new seasons.

The new series is expected to return to Channel 5 this autumn.
