Siobhan Haughey makes it to 200m freestyle final

Hong Kong swimmer Siobhan Haughey on Sunday made it to the women’s 200m freestyle final at the Paris Olympics. In the first 100 metres, Haughey maintained a steady top three. She was able to narrow the gap and finished third in the second semi-final of the event. Her time of 1 minute, 55.51 seconds was the fourth fastest overall, earning her one of eight spots in the final. The final will take place in the early hours of Tuesday, Hong Kong time. Haughey’s main rivals are Australians Mollie O'Callaghan, who won gold in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay on Saturday, and Ariarne Titmus, who holds the world and Olympic records in the event and defended her title in the 400m free on the first day of the Games. Haughey took silver in the 100m and 200m free at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago and won the world title in the 200 freestyle earlier this year.
