The 1% Club's Lee Mack looks unrecognisable as he's pictured without beard

The 1% Club: Lee Mack poses the 30% question

Comedian and actor Lee Mack is barely recognisable in unearthed photos where he's seen without his signature beard.

In one snap taken at The Loaded Laftas Comedy Awards in 2005, a 55-year-old Lee, who is known for hosting ITV's The 1% Club, can be seen grinning at the camera with longer hair than usual and a hint of stubble on his face. Another photo captures the comedian pulling a playful face for the camera, donning a navy blue blazer and a black shirt.

These pictures were snapped back in 2005 before Lee rose to fame with BBC's hit sitcom Not Going Out. At that time, he was recognised for his appearances on They Think It's All Over and The Sketch Show.

He joined 8 Out Of 10 Cats in 2005, and the following year, Not Going Out began airing on BBC One. Lee not only writes but also stars in the comedy sitcom, which now features Sally Bretton, Deborah Grant, Geoffrey Whitehead, Hugh Dennis, and Abigail Cruttenden.

The comedian, who has appeared in every single episode of Not Going Out, portrays a fictional version of himself, reports OK!.

In 2007, Lee became a team captain on Would I Lie To You? a role that brought him further into the limelight.

The popular show sees him star alongside fellow comedian David Mitchell and a host of celebrity guests, with Rob Brydon taking on the hosting duties.

In recent times, Lee has ventured into the realm of TV presenting and has quickly became a fan-favourite with many audiences.

Away from his public persona, Lee, whose birth name is Lee Gordon McKillop, is married to Tara McKillop. They tied the knot in 2005 and have a son named Arlo.

Little is known about Tara as she prefers to stay out of the spotlight, unlike her husband.
