The Boys Prequel Series Vought Rising Announced, Features Two Familiar Characters

During San Diego Comic-Con, Prime Video made a big surprise announcement: A new prequel series for The Boys is in the works. Vought Rising, as it's called, stars Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash reprising their characters from The Boys in a period piece set during the 1950s.

This is just the latest spin-off, as it follows the animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical and Gen V. Plans are also in place for The Boys: Mexico, but it still has some hurdles to clear to get made. Gen V Season 2 is in the works now and is coming up next before The Boys Season 5--its final season--comes sometime later.

Vought Rising is described as a "twisted murder mystery" that digs into the origins of Vought, the evil megacorporation, in a story set in the 1950s. The story will focus on Ackles' character, Soldier Boy, and the character Stormfront, who was going by the name Clara Vought back in the '50s.
