Good Morning Britain mocked as viewers complain over 'boring' segment

GMB: Ranvir delivers news on France's rail networks

Good Morning Britain viewers took to social media with scathing remarks, dubbing the show "top shelf TV" in a sarcastic tone as presenters fumbled again over Kamala Harris's name pronunciation.

During Friday's episode of the beloved ITV morning show, Robert Rinder and Ranvir Singh navigated through various segments mixing fluff pieces with serious news. However, it was the conversation about US Vice President Kamala Harris and the persisting struggle over her name pronunciation that irked certain viewers.

The topic of Kamala has been especially since Joe Biden stepped aside, catapulting her name into the spotlight. Yet, GMB hosts, including Richard Madeley, have repeatedly stumbled when saying her first name.

Although Kamala's name had already come up on Thursday's show, some viewers were exasperated by the return of the subject the following day. They promptly voiced their annoyance on X, formerly known as Twitter.

A frustrated Twitter user commented: "OMG. They are talking about how to pronounce Kamala again! ! ! Top shelf TV this", reports the Mirror.

Another added sarcastically, complete with a "boring" GIF: "FFS! Tune in late to see that they are still banging on about Kamala Harris's name pronunciation," expressing dismay at the repetitive discussion.

One viewer took to Twitter to express frustration, "Can GMB pronounce the name of Dutch prime minister Schoof correctly? " Meanwhile, another added fuel to the fire: "On Monday you guys were pronouncing Kamala Harris' name wrong. Tuesday you made a thing and still got it wrong. Wednesday you got it right. Don't mention THAT did you?"

However, not everyone was critical of the mistake, with some taking a lighter stance on the issue; one fan humorously remarked: "It's not disrespectful to mispronounce a name though! Americans always mispronounce tomato, potato etc, so have a word!"

This comes on the heels of a viral video teaching the proper pronunciation of Vice President Kamala Harris' name, which reemerged online.

Originally posted on May 24, 2016, on Kamala's own social media, the footage features children struggling with her name before being taught the correct pronunciation.
