GMB's Laura Tobin issues 'uncomfortable' farewell to ITV viewers as she makes swift exit

GMB: Laura Tobin jumps into a river

Laura Tobin made an "uncomfortable" admission as she announced some news to ITV fans.

The meteorologist, 42, joined Robert Rinder and Ranvir Singh on Friday's instalment of Good Morning Britain (July 26) to share the latest weather updates with viewers. She had a different location however, swapping the ITV studio for Suffolk's Latitude Festival.

Ahead of her final report, Ranvir questioned whether Laura was planning to have a go at open water swimming, as the festival offers a variety of swimming packages at the lake.

Laura explained how GMB's editor told her that open water swimming is something you have to try out at Latitude Festival, and she was more than keen to take part.

However, when time came to jump in, Laura confessed: "It now sounds like a less good idea." Nonetheless, Laura was ready to go as she changed into the best swimming clothes she could find.

After sharing her final weather report, Laura removed her earpiece and was told to prepare to "feel comfortable being uncomfortable". She then leapt into the lake before receiving a round of applause from Ranvir back in the studio.

As Laura began to swim away, she revealed fans wouldn't see her on GMB next week as she is on holiday. "See you next week. Actually, I'm on holiday next week. See you in two weeks," Laura exclaimed.

It comes after Good Morning Britain fans demanded a change as they begged Laura to "ditch" her climate clock. Laura introduced her new 'Climate Clock' earlier in the week, which was Climate Emergency Day.

The presenter says that the clock "ticked below five years for the first time" and says that "we need to drastically cut fossil fuel emissions to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels."

During Wednesday's edition (July 24) of the show, fans were eager for her to get rid of it and voiced their reaction on social media. One person demanded: "Lose the climate clock."

Another person declared: "She needs to stop preaching her own views on the climate on this show and get rid of that stupid clock. Just tell us the weather."

A third person wrote: "ALARMIST clock out again today!! "hottest ever"!! LMFAO haven't looked at your history books lately nor looked deeper into historical global temperatures!!" However, others took to social media to compliment Laura instead, with one writing: "I can't take my eyes off of your dress! It's mesmerising! You look stunning, as always."

Another agreed: "Good Morning Laura looking gorgeous today from top to toe."
