PlayStation VR 2 Steam App Suddenly Appears With Release Date

Sony has revealed that the PSVR 2 Steam app will launch on August 6, allowing the PSVR 2 headset to be compatible with VR games from the PC storefront.

Along with the headset, players will also need the PSVR 2 Sense controllers, as well as the PSVR 2 PC adapter, which costs $60. A DisplayPort cable that's compatible with DisplayPort 1.4 is needed too. When playing VR games and apps on Steam with PSVR 2, the PSVR 2 app needs to stay installed on the PC, even after its initial setup is complete.

While using the PSVR 2 headset with Steam, features such as HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (apart from rumble) will not be available. However, 4K visuals, 110-degree field of view, 3D audio, and finger-touch detection will be supported.
