Loose Women: Penny Lancaster returns to the show as a panel guest

Penny Lancaster returned to the Loose Women panel on Thursday afternoon as the ladies spoke about their families.

As Kaye Adams spoke about her daughter graduating, the presenters discussed the topic of when you realise your child has become an adult.

While Sunetra Sarker revealed her children are heading off to university this summer, which she confessed to being in denial about.

Addressing Penny, Kaye said: “You’re in the same boat though, aren’t you?” Confirming she was, the 53-year-old said: “Alastair is waiting for his A Level results but he’s been given an offer at the fashion academy, the Jimmy Choo Academy in London.”

Penny shares Alastair with her husband Rod Stewart along with their younger son Aiden.

Giving more information about her son’s upcoming education, Penny told ITV viewers he’ll be doing a three-year degree in fashion, design, entrepreneurship, and branding.

She continued: “I’m very proud of him but I think when we’re talking about your children turning into adults, I recognised him as a man for the first time when he was given the honour of being his brother’s best man at his wedding.

“Liam got married to Nicole, he made the most incredible, heartfelt speech, he performed it like- I was just so proud of him. I was like, ‘That’s a man’.”

Penny’s kind words about her son earned a roaring applause from the audience as the panellist also seemed in awe of Alastair.

Seeing Penny return to the ITV show went down well with many fans as people were thrilled seeing her on-screen once again.

One person said: “Great to see Sunetra and Penny back after so long and always great having Kaye and Judi too. Can't wait.”

The ITV star was last on the show back in January after being a regular presenter on the programme since 2014.

However, over the years viewers have noticed her regular absences as she was seen less and less.

Speaking about her lengthy absences, an insider told Daily Mail: “It is obvious that Penny is no longer a regular panellist. This is purely due to other professional and personal commitments.

"Penny loves the show and LW loves Penny. But such appearances as she is able to make in the future will be as a guest."

Loose Women continues weekdays on ITV from 12:30pm.
