UEFA have confirmed that seven nations have been punished for the discriminatory behaviour of their supporters at Euro 2024 this summer. Germany hosted a successful tournament - won by Spain earlier this month - but fan behaviour, including racism and other offensive chanting, marred several matches.

Almost two weeks after Spain lifted their fourth Euros crown by beating England at Berlin's Olimpiastadion, European football's governing body has cracked down on the reported incidents.

A press release on Wednesday confirmed that the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) had charged seven federations for incidents across 17 games.

It has been hit with a £25,183 fine and received a one-UEFA match ban from selling tickets to their away supporters, suspended for a probationary period of two years.

The Hungarian Football Federation, Football Association of Slovenia and Football Association of Serbia have been dealt the same punishment for racist and discriminatory behaviour.

While Hungary and Slovenia fans were involved in incidents in two matches, all three of Serbia's Group C games involved such behaviour from their supporters.

The Austrian Football Federation has received a slightly lower fan of £16,788 and a suspended one-UEFA match ban from selling tickets to away fans for racist and discriminatory behaviour against Poland.

Gibraltar is an enclave at Spain's southern tip but has been under British rule since the 18th Century.

The Gibraltar Football Association complained about their behaviour, which occurred in Cibeles Square in Madrid as they were marking the nation's record fourth Euro triumph.

Following an evaluation, UEFA confirmed both players had been charged with "general principles of conduct, violating the basic rules of decent conduct, using sporting events for manifestations of a non-sporting nature, and bringing the sport of football, and UEFA in particular, into disrepute."
