Police investigate suspected murder in Mid-Levels

Police say a woman has died and a man is intensive care following a suspected murder and suicide attempt in Mid-Levels on Wednesday. The force said it received a report at around 1pm of smoke coming out of a flat on Kotewall Road. Officers found a 57-year-old woman and her 66-year-old husband inside the apartment. They were taken to hospital where the woman was pronounced dead. The man suffered burns to his face and arms, police said. Assistant District Commander Tse Tsz-kwan said they found what appears to be a suicide note, which they suspect was written by the man. Tse said further investigations needed to be carried out to determine what caused the woman's death.
