BBC Breakfast fans divided as Carol Kirkwood makes on-air confession 'truth is coming out'

Carol Kirkwood reveals how she likes her fish and chips

BBC Breakfast viewers were left divided on Wednesday morning as the show’s question of the day sparked a huge conversation.

With the cost of potatoes rising, Nina Warhurst paid a visit to a fish and chip processing factory in Blackpool. However, the BBC presenters were quick to ask various guests and other stars of the show how they enjoyed the classic British dish.

Although Carol Kirkwood left Jon and Sally a bit taken aback by her food confession. She said: “Well, I would have the fish and some dry chips, then when I finished the fish I would drown my chips in vinegar and a wee bit of salt.

“You can squish them in and then just absorb it, in fact, I probably have chips with my vinegar rather than the other way around.”

Stunned, Jon asked: “What so you mush the chips?!” Confirming that’s precisely what she does, the weather forecaster told Jon she mushes them into all the vinegar so they become soggy and soft.

Sally replied: “I’m going to try that, that sounds amazing!”

Jon seemed unimpressed as he told Carol she could just have mashed potato instead, however, she firmly disagreed.

She hit back: “No! It’s not the same at all Jon, you wouldn’t have vinegar with mashed potato. Oh, the truths that are coming out this morning.”

The question seemed to divide viewers watching as some were happy to share their food orders, while others were unimpressed by the segment.
