Man Utd decide Jadon Sancho price as PSG look to end Old Trafford nightmare

Jadon Sancho could be given a lifeline from his Manchester United predicament by Paris Saint-Germain but only if they are prepared to fork out up to £40million for him, according to reports. Sancho has returned to training with United after spending the latter half of last season on loan at his old club Borussia Dortmund, following a public disagreement with Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag and Sancho had a meeting to clear the air earlier this month, where the 24-year-old reportedly reflected on past issues. Both parties agreed to put their disagreement behind them and move forward, and Sancho featured in the first half of United's 2-0 victory over Rangers at the weekend.

He will also be part of the team that jets off to Los Angeles on Wednesday for a three-match tour of the United States, where friendlies against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool await.

But PSG have shown interest in signing Sancho on a permanent basis. According to the Mirror, United are hoping to recover around half of the £73million they shelled out to Dortmund in 2021.

Sancho's time at United has been fraught with challenges, having only made 82 appearances and netted 12 goals in three disappointing seasons.

He was granted a three-month leave by Ten Hag in the Dutchman's maiden campaign to address physical and mental health concerns before rejoining the squad.

Last term, Sancho was exiled from first-team training for four months after publicly challenging his manager's reason for excluding him from the 3-1 loss at Arsenal in September.

Ten Hag asserted that Sancho was left out due to subpar training performances, a claim that the English forward disputed on social media, effectively labelling his boss a liar.

After a loan spell at Dortmund during the latter half of last season, Sancho was reintegrated into the United team earlier this summer. Following frank discussions with Ten Hag, he was permitted to resume first-team training.

Since the news of their mended relationship emerged, Ten Hag has been eager to put the disagreement behind them. While he has commended Sancho as a "good player", the Dutch manager has refrained from guaranteeing his stay beyond the summer.

"As we said, we've drawn the line. Manchester United needs good players, and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on. We've drawn the line. We move on," Ten Hag explained.

Sancho took to the field for United during their win over Rangers on Saturday, starting on the left wing. However, his performance at Murrayfield was less than stellar, creating just one opportunity and taking a single shot during his 45-minute stint.

Even that solitary attempt demonstrated that he still had some way to go to climb the pecking order, blasting over the bar from 12 yards out. In total, he managed just three touches in the Rangers box and failed to deliver an accurate cross.
