Manchester United plan to continue their summer clearout as INEOS work on selling players to boost Erik ten Hag's transfer budget, according to reports. The Red Devils are said to have left several first-team stars in the shop window in the hope of receiving suitable offers over the coming weeks.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe's freshly-formed recruitment team have made an impressive start to a new era at Old Trafford in terms of incomings and outgoings.

United have splashed around £88m to sign Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee and Lille centre-back Leny Yoro, beating Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool to the latter.

They have also pocketed just under £50m on player sales, offloading Alvaro Fernandez, Donny van de Beek, Willy Kambwala and Mason Greenwood.

But finances are tight amid limitations imposed by the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), and United will likely need to raise more cash to fund further arrivals.

According to ESPN, Ten Hag wants to sign another centre-back, a right-back and a central midfielder before the summer deadline.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen, players in each of those positions, have entered the final year of their contracts and are all being eyed for moves away.

United are also fielding offers for Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Antony and Jadon Sancho but will likely only sanction a transfer if their asking price is met.

Sancho was widely expected to leave permanently this summer, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after his public fallout with Ten Hag.

But the 24-year-old winger was a surprise returnee at Carrington in the first week of pre-season, and he played the first half of Saturday's 2-0 win against Rangers.

Sancho is set to be among the travelling party when Ten Hag, his staff and his squad leave the UK for United's pre-season tour of the United States on Wednesday.

He is available for transfer, though, and will likely depart if a bid worth in the region of £40m arrives amid reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

United won't sign another centre-back unless Maguire or Lindelof depart, considering to duo joins Lisandro Martinez, Yoro and Jonny Evans as Ten Hag's senior options.

The same applies in midfield. McTominay and Eriksen join Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount as options to play in the double pivot behind Bruno Fernandes.

A right-back arrival also depends on whether United find a buyer for Wan-Bissaka, with Diogo Dalot now established as the club's first-choice right-back.

Ten Hag will be satisfied with his summer business so far, but there is undoubtedly more work to be done to improve a dismal 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
