Crenshaw Skate Club Partners with XLarge on a Rhinestone-Adorned Range

While its legacy is cemented in the culture of California, Crenshaw Skate Club is drawing inspiration from skate cultures abroad to inform its latest delivery. Tobey McIntosh's West Coast imprint is joining hands with XLarge Japan to pay homage to the sport's inclusive ethos and free-spirited nature in its new collaborative capsule.

Dominating the range is a set of bejeweled denim garments, consisting of a vest and pair of shorts. As McIntosh explains, the rhinestone accenting is a nod to the self-expression and importance of individuality in skateboarding.

The duo also worked with Carden Katz to drop off a short film to promote the launch – complete with a cameo from McIntosh's grandfather – that introduces the lore of the capsule's South Central mascot "Rhinestone Randall," the man who never pays for his orders because he rocks "rhinestones so bright they blind the sun."

Elsewhere in the capsule, the duo serves up a lineup of co-branded graphic tees – donned by the entirety of the Crenshaw Crew in the short film – as well as accessories including belts, socks and hats.

Cop a piece from the Crenshaw Skate Club x XLarge drop once it goes live for purchase on July 27 at XLarge Japan's online store as well as at all 32 brick-and-mortar locations.
