Dior Men's FW 24 Campaign Draws Inspiration From Ballet

Dior has released its Men's Fall/Winter 2024 campaign, taking the ballet-inspired collection to the studio. From creative director Kim Jones, the collection draws inspiration from male ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who he has a personal connection to due to his uncle Colin Jones, a dancer and photographer who worked with Nureyev.

The images, shot by Alasdair McLellan, capture models in the ballet studio, utilizing the environment's hallmarks like mirrors and ballet bars. If the runway show was the performance, this campaign is set in the rehearsal to let the clothing stand out without the extra frills.

The campaign highlights the piece's wearability as casual and formal looks meld together the typically feminine, extravagant style of ballet wear with Dior's quality menswear. A men's ballet sneaker which reinterprets the timeless ballet slipper, is featured on the models in multiple styles. Many of the garments in the images like a zipped wool jumpsuit and ribbed knits take direct inspiration from rehearsal wear to fit the studio setting.

Handbags are also prominently featured as the brand's signature Saddle style gets a utilitarian makeover and other larger bags showcase storage in style.
