“Gorgeous & not a millilitre of Botox to be seen,” shared one viewer.

Asking how she first became the Green Goddess, Diana confessed it was by mistake. She said: “It wasn’t planned at all, I was a personal and welfare officer in a big department store in the West Country. Because I’m so tall, one day they asked me to be a model in one of their fashion shows.

“I was seen by HTV, my station back home, before I knew it I was doing afternoon programmes with them but they knew that I also went off every Thursday, bright red to Bultins to take keep fit and I did it for fun with the holiday makers and the whole thing, it bubbled on.”

Detailing the BBC saw her and called when they were starting up breakfast TV, they asked if she’d like to be with them for the first week.

However, Diana ended up staying with the broadcaster for four years, as the 85-year-old shared that her career took off from there.

Recently, she was contacted by the BBC during the pandemic to see if she would take part in making fitness videos for those stuck at home.

She said: “This gentleman (her friend) with his phone took videos of me in my conservatory and that’s what went out on the BBC during COVID. I did it for people who were at home, sitting there bored not able to go to their gyms. But because of course I’m an older person, I had to do it in a rather quiet way than I might have done it all those years ago.”

This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am
