This Morning's Alison Hammond forced to apologise as she almost swears live on ITV

Alison Hammond has difficulty recalling name of presenting peer

Alison Hammond had to issue an on-air apology after she nearly let slip a swear word during the live broadcast of This Morning on ITV.

The show descended into delightful disarray last Friday (July 19) as the team moved outdoors to bask in the scorching London heat. Dermot O'Leary even strolled off the set mid-discussion about loo breaks, leaving Alison to steer the ship solo.

Dermot was only jesting, of course, and he did come back, albeit causing several interruptions for a series of unexpected disruptions. And all this before the programme narrowly avoided broadcasting a swear word.

Viewers, however, were smitten with Alison, with one admirer posting on X: "Alison looks fab! #ThisMorning."

Another commented on her dynamic with Dermot: "Aww the ending when Dermot reached out his hand to Alison aww...", reports the Mirror.

Yet, a fan with mixed feelings remarked: "I do love Alison Hammond but can you actually finish a sentence and make a point before laughing out loud and also please stop using internet lingo babes."

This incident follows reporter Isla Traquair's controversial on-air proposition to urinate in the sea to challenge a new Spanish regulation. While discussing the Spanish police's crackdown on early sunbed reservation on beaches, the topic veered off to the fines facing those who urinate in the sea along the Costa Del Sol.

Isla has raised eyebrows by questioning the practicality of enforcing new Spanish laws and she's even volunteered to put them to the test. Known for her adventurous spirit, which recently took her to Tenerife in pursuit of Jay Slater, Isla is now ready to take on Spain once more.

On the show, Dermot O'Leary disclosed: "Sunbed hoggers to receive a €250 fine from Spanish police I don't know how they're going to do this. Spanish police say they're going to give tourists a fine for reserving sunbeds on the Costa Blanca before 9:30."

To which Isla quipped: "Well. We did the story last week about you getting fined if you do a widdle in the sea, and I'd already volunteered for that job so I'll take this one on at the same time!"

This Morning air weekdays at 10am on ITV
