Revolution Taps Christiaan Van Der Klaauw for Celestial Timepiece Collaboration

Revolution has teamed up with Dutch watchmaker Christiaan van der Klaauw (CVDK) for a limited-edition timepiece that embodies a poetic and astronomical theme.

The watch, named Planetarium Prometheus, features a celestial spectacle on its starry Aventurine dial, where our solar system is implemented as a horological complication. Sitting on the watch face’s lower sector is what its makers claim is the smallest mechanical planetarium, a feature that also earned CVDK its GPHG Calendar and Astronomy Watch Prize back in 2021.

White Roman numerals adorn the upper section of the dial, where the Maison’s emblematic logo takes the spot of the 12 o’clock index. Sitting between the Breguet-stye hands and the numerals is a radial date and month display.

The 40mm polished titanium case houses a new in-house Manufacture Movement, which also marks the fifth decade anniversary of CVDK's Astronomical Complications. This stunning movement is revealed on the open caseback, proudly showcasing all of its skeletonized glory with frosted stars.

Releasing as a 6-piece limited edition, the Planetarium Prometheus boasts a price tag of €44,628 EUR(approx. $48,574 USD) and will be available to purchase through Revolution’s webstore on July 23, 7 a.m. ET.
