This Morning star challenges Spanish beach fines with daring weeing offer on live TV

Alison and Dermot present This Morning outside

This Morning's Isla Traquair left viewers stunned when she cheekily suggested she'd urinate in the sea to test new Spanish laws for the ITV programme.

While discussing with hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond about Spanish police fining early sunbed reservists, they touched on the subject of fines for those caught urinating in the Costa Del Sol waters.

Isla, who's no stranger to adventurous reporting, having recently travelled to Tenerife for a story, is now ready to take on Spain's latest regulations. Dermot shared the news: "Sunbed hoggers to receive a €250 fine from Spanish police I don't know how they're going to do this. Spanish police say they're going to give tourists a fine for reserving sunbeds on the Costa Blanca before 9:30."

To which Isla quipped: "Well. We did the story last week about you getting fined if you do a widdle in the sea, and I'd already volunteered for that job so I'll take this one on at the same time!"

She then outlined a crafty tactic to avoid detection, saying: "You go out, commando crawl at 5am, pop your book, towel and a wet swimsuit the wet swimsuit is the key," reports the Mirror.

Gyles Brandreth joined in, adding: "The wet swimsuit implies you've already been out for your swim, you've already been there. Then people think oh they're just drying!"

Isla remarked: "I think if you're on the sunbed and you're using it before 9:30 you won't get fined. It is annoying when the towels are out and no-one's using it."

The decision of Isla to fly out to Tenerife in search of Jay raised eyebrows among her followers, with one poking fun at her: "Isla loves a free hol doesn't she lol?" Meanwhile another chimed in with a dose of irony: "So Isla went straight from telling us all that we're not to be 'armchair detectives', to hop on a flight to Tenerife to jump on a bandwagon.."

A third added their voice to the bemusement, querying: "They've sent Isla to Tenerife? Why exactly?" and another echoed the sentiment of confusion over her actions, remarking: "Why... considering the day before she was complaining about amateur sleuths??"
