FX Chairman Speaks on Possibility of 'The Bear' Season 5

FX head John Landgraf has addressed the possibility of The Bear returning for a fifth season following its record-breaking 23 Emmy nominations.

In an interview with Variety, the chairman explained that Season 5 will be dependent on creator and showrunner Chris Storer. "These decisions are really creative decisions," he stated, although he personally is hoping that Storer "has more than one more season of story to tell." He continued, "But not to the extent that if there was one great season or three mediocre ones, I’d rather have one great one. You just have to follow the creative."

Landgraf also hinted at the premiere window of Season 4, which was filmed back-to-back with the latest season. While he confirmed that they're unable to debut the new season earlier due to the cast's other commitments, he's "incredibly proud and grateful" that The Bear has been able to premiere yearly. "I can’t say for sure, but my guess is it’ll come back the same time next year," he shared.

The Bear received a total of 23 Emmy nominations, beating 30 Rock's previous record to become the most nominated comedy series in a single year.
